Who doesn't love getting stuck into a good book on holiday? Here are some of my favourites that I have read recently. You are welcome.
INTO THE DARKEST CORNER - ELIZABETH HAYNES
This was AMAZING. A psychological thriller that had me page turning like crazy whilst also not wanting to know what horrific thing happens next. Short chapters with a past vs. present narrative which I adore in a book. If you love a good thriller then this is definitely for you.
THIS IS GOING TO HURT - ADAM KAY
This book will make you laugh, cry and want to be sick. It's completely different to the books I usually enjoy reading but I loved every page of this. Written in a diary format by a junior doctor it is so hilarious that I laughed out loud on many occasions; sometimes uncontrollably which can be very embarrassing on public transport. It's a great insight into the NHS and the work of doctors; you learn a lot without realising it and also learn a few things you probably didn't want to know too much about. Incredibly heart warming and brilliantly written. It's a yes from me.
ELEANOR OLIPHANT IS COMPLETELY FINE - GAIL HONEYMAN
Wow. This was a very powerful book with an ending I did not see coming at all. Another one which can make you want to cry while having laugh out loud moments throughout. I highly recommend this; perfect if you want to connect with a character and read something real.
FRIEND REQUEST - LAURA MARSHALL
A quick holiday read that's great if you enjoy a 'who done it' style thriller. It wasn't the best psychological thriller I have ever read but is perfect if you want an easy to read page turner.
I have got a huge pile of fiction and non-fiction books waiting for me so I can't wait to get stuck in and recommend more books here on my blog! Make sure you check back if you love reading as well xoxo
